About The Chief
Chief Paul H. Magee was appointed Chief of the Rochester Police Department on January 6, 2003. A native of the Southcoast, he started his career as a summer officer in Wareham, Massachusetts. After the summer, Magee joined the Marion Police Department part time until he left for a full time position with the Mattapoisett Police Department in June of 1988. Promoted to Sergeant in 1994, Magee continued with the Mattapoisett Police until accepting the position of Police Chief here in Rochester.
The Chief holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Western New England University. He is a graduate of the 251st Session of the FBI National Academy held in Quantico, Virginia, and the Command Training Program of the New England Institute of Law Enforcement Management held at Babson College.
In addition to his duties here in Rochester, Chief Magee also serves as a member of the Veteran's Council, is a Past President of the Plymouth County Police Chief's Association, and served as Control Chief for the SEMLEC Search and Rescue Team. The Chief, his wife Mary and family, reside in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts.
